Barcelona’s Messi Sets New Record In 4-0 Win Against Mallorca
Captain of Barcelona, Lionel Messi on Saturday night set a new record following his side’s La Liga 4-0 win against Mallorca.
Barcelona went in front in the second minute of play after Arturo Vidal headed home Jordi Alba’s cross.
Martin Braithwaite doubled the Catalans advantage with eight minutes left to half time.
Alba made it three late in the second half before Messi rounded off scoring on an impressive night for Quique Setién’ side at the Visit Mallorca Estadi.
However, Messi’s Goal against Mallorca means the Argentine captain is now the only player to score 20 or more goals in the La Liga in twelve consecutive seasons, according to Goal.
The 32-year-old also saw his league assist tally this season rise to 14, making him both the top scorer and top assist provider in Spain’s top-flight league so far this term.

Messi will now hope to lead Barca to victory when they host Leganes on Tuesday in their next fixture.
The victory against Mallorca means Blaugrana are now five points clear of Real Madrid.
